2nd half of the spring term
FYI: The next half term week when nursery will be closed is Mon 4th June till Fri 8th June 2012
If you would like your son or daughter to join Riverbanks Nursery School,
we have just a few places left for the rest of the academic year.
We are now allocating places for the Sept 2012 to July 2013 year and beyond.
It is never too early to register your child!

We usually accept children in to the nursery in the months of Sept, Oct, Nov, Jan, Feb & Mar
When your son or daughter reaches 2 years & 1 day old, they could join this well established, happy, fun, exciting independent Nursery School. We are situated on the edge of Harpenden town.

HISTORY OF THIS INDEPENDENT NURSERY; I set up Riverbanks Nursery School in October 1990. We opened for 2 mornings a week. The ethos of this nursery is that of a caring, fun and educational environment where little people start to learn about the world of school and more about the school of life!
'Children and scientists are the best learners in the world, and they both seem to operate in very similar, even identical ways; ways that are unlike even our best computers. They never start from scratch; instead, they modify and change what they know to gain new knowledge.'

This desire to gain new knowledge is evident when you watch our Riverbanks children at play, whilst at Riverbanks. It makes Riverbanks an exciting, stimulating and a happy place to be - whether you are a child or an adult!
I am told that we have a reputation as one of the best nursery schools in the area. But ask you to come and visit us to decide for yourself. We currently have 80 pupils from Harpenden & the towns and villages surrounding Harpenden.
Our pupils and their families can choose from 5 flexible, daily session times and the pupils at Riverbanks range from 2 years and 1 day to 5 years of age. We invoice on a quarter of an hourly basis - so you only pay for the time your child is actually in the nursery school.
When we run our exciting Holiday Clubs in each major holiday period, we accept children aged 2 years to 8 years of age. The hours for this club are 9am till 3.30pm each day.

If there is a heavy snow fall on 9.2.12......We may be closed on Friday 9th Feb '12.
We will do all in our power to remain open - but must ensure that the journey to school for children, parents and staff would not potentially put anyone at risk of an accident or of being stranded in the snow. Some pupils and teachers have an hours car drive to the nursery! Also we need to maintain legal ratios to be able to open. Please keep an eye on the first page of the website.
